National College Health Assessment

What is NCHA?

The National College Health Assessment (NCHA) is a national research survey organized by the American College Health Association to assist college health service providers, health educators, counselors, and administrators in collecting data about their students' habits, behaviors, and perceptions on prevalent health topics.

Questions on the NCHA survey cover the following topics:

  • demographics/personal profile
  • alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use
  • weight, nutrition, and exercise
  • mental health
  • personal safety and violence

Is the survey confidential?

The survey is completely voluntary and confidential! So feel free to give us your honest feedback!  The survey results will be reported in aggregate form only, and you will not be identified.

Why is it important that I fill out the survey?

The NCHA 2021 Fall launch is a survey designed to assess student health behaviors to provide better support for Baylor University students. The information collected from this survey will be used to develop wellness programs and services for Baylor University. More importantly, they show us what we’re doing right and what we need to improve upon.

All students who submit a survey will be automatically entered in a random drawing for:

  • Apple AirPods (1 winner )
  • Athletic's Swag Bag (2 winners)
  • $50 Baylor Bookstore Gift Card  (2 winners)
  • $15 Starbucks Gift Card  (10 winners)
  • Baylor Swag Bag   (10 Winners)
  • 10-minute hydro-massage session (20 winners)

For a total of 45 winners!

Incentives made possible by the Vice President of Student Life Office, Baylor University Police Department, Care Team Services, Office of Spiritual Life, Equity, Civil Rights, and Title IX Office, Baylor University Counseling Center, Campus Recreation, and the Baylor University Undergraduates Admissions Office, and Baylor Athletics! Thank you!

Visit the NCHA website for more information about the survey.

You may also contact Christiana Owusu-Ankomah, Assistant Director of Well-Being Initiatives, at @Christiana_Owusu-Ank@baylor.edu if you have questions or concerns about the survey.
